Evaluation of Some Haematological Parameters in the Management of HBV Infection Treatment Outcome in Delta State, Nigeria

Aims: To evaluate Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection treatment outcome using the levels of white blood cells, haemoglobin, platelets counts and other red cell indices HBV positive naïve, on at 3- 6-months subjects attending gastro-enterology clinic in Federal Medical Centre Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria
 Study Design: Cross-Sectional longitudinal study.
 Place Duration Study: Asaba (FMC) Iykenson Diagnostic Co. Ltd, Awka. Centre, between August 2019 September 2020.
 Methodology: A total one hundred fifteen (115) adults aged 22 – 64 years participated this study. The study sites for work comprised cross-sectional consists fifty (50) confirmed hepatitis negative as controls whereas, follow-up sixty-five (65) naïve which were followed-up three six months with tenovofir respectively. Four (4) participants (two post two treatment) dropped-out research due to time constraint. Blood samples collected from EDTA bottles used analysis (WBC count), haemoglobin concentration, packed volume (PCV), mean (MCV), (MCH), concentration (MCHC) platelet count (PLT). Statistical Package social Science (SPSS) software version 26 was data P<.05 considered statistically significant.
 Results: There no significant difference (P>.05) neutrophil, lymphocyte, eosinophil monocyte population among four groups level significantly lower month three-month when compared control group. volume, six-months group (P<.05).
 Conclusion: In conclusion, it is possible that has effect iron metabolism production haematological precursor cells are reflected low PCV, MCV, MCH MCHC such these parameters could be co markers viral load monitoring Nigeria.
